ToggleHow to Install and Activate an eSIM on a Vivo Mobile?
Connectivity is evolving, and so are Vivo devices. Models like the X90 Pro and the V29 Lite 5G (European version) already support eSIM technology. Not sure if your phone is compatible? Check our monthly updated list.
Here’s how to easily install and activate your eSIM on a Vivo device, using either a QR code or manual setup.
Before you start setting up your Vivo with eSIM:
- Verify that your Xiaomi device is compatible and unlocked.
- Make sure you’re connected to a stable and secure Wi-Fi network. Avoid using public networks.
- Have your QR code or activation codes handy.
- If one method doesn’t work, try the other. If the QR code fails, try for manual installation.
How to add or install an eSIM on Vivo?
Installing your eSIM on a Vivo device is very easy. Whether you choose to scan a QR code or enter the details manually, we’ll guide you through both methods.
To add an eSIM on Vivo device with a QR code:
- Go to Settings > Select Network & internet > Tap on SIM card & mobile network > Turn on the eSIM option > Then Select Add > Scan the QR Code to start the installation process (do not close this window, or the installation may fail) > Uncheck the “Auto enable eSIM card” option that appears on your screen and click on “Add” > Finally, complete the activation of your eSIM once you’ve reached your destination.
To install an eSIM on Vivo using manual codes:
- Go to Settings > Select Network & Internet > Tap on SIM Card & Mobile Network > Turn on the eSIM option > Then select Add.
- Tap on Enter activation code manually > Copy and paste the full activation code for Android (including “LPA” and the colon ‘:’) that was sent to your email. This is not a link, but a code that must be entered in the designated field > Select Add > Uncheck the “Auto enable eSIM card” option that appears on your screen and click on “Add” > Finally, complete the activation of your eSIM once you’ve reached your destination.
How to activate an eSIM on Vivo?
Ideally, you should activate your eSIM once you reach your destination. But if you activated it in advance, don’t worry. You can simply deactivate it and turn off roaming until you’re ready to connect.
Follow these steps to activate your Free Roaming eSIM on your Vivo phone:
- Go to Settings > Select Network & Internet > Tap on SIM Card & Mobile Network > Scroll down and ensure the eSIM option is activated > Turn off your personal SIM and select your Free Roaming eSIM > Enable eSIM card toggle and switch on Roaming.
To keep in mind:
- eSIM availability on Vivo devices varies by country, region, and carrier, with some models not supporting it in areas like China, Hong Kong, and Macau.
- On Vivo phones that support both eSIM and Dual SIM, you can use a physical SIM and eSIM simultaneously, but only one can be active for mobile data at a time.
- Settings, paths, and images may vary depending on your Vivo model and software version, but the general process remains the same.
- You can delete, change, or enable/disable the eSIM from the settings menu. However, avoid deleting it if you’re facing connection issues, as this may prevent reinstallation.
- The manual installation code is not a link. You’ll need to copy and paste it exactly into the designated space without any spaces to ensure proper activation.
Troubleshooting tips
If you’re having trouble connecting to the network via eSIM on your Vivo device after enabling data roaming at your destination, try manually selecting a network. Here’s how you can do it:
- Go to Settings > Select Network & Internet > Tap on SIM Card & Mobile Network > Scroll down and choose your Free Roaming eSIM > Toggle OFF the Automatically select network option > Wait for the available networks to load, select each carrier that appears on your screen, and choose the one with the best signal and connection > Try browsing again.
