How to Install and Activate an eSIM on a Nokia Phone?

Nokia continues to evolve, and with models like the Nokia X30 5G, Nokia G60 5G, and Nokia T21, you can now use eSIM with ease. Here’s how to install it on your Nokia device, either by scanning a QR code or entering the details manually.

How to install an eSIM on Nokia?

You have two ways to install your eSIM on your phone: by scanning a QR code or entering the details manually. Here’s the step by step process for each option.

To install an eSIM on Nokia with a QR Code:

Go to Settings > Select Network & Internet > Choose Mobile Network > Add eSIM > Tap the option “Don’t have a SIM card?” > Next > Scan the QR code > Select Continue > Tap on Activate.

To install an eSIM on Nokia using manual codes:

Go to Settings > Select Network & Internet > Tap on Mobile Network > Add eSIM > Scroll to the bottom of the screen and tap the option “Don’t have a SIM card?” > Next > Tap on Need help? > Select Enter it Manually > Copy and paste the full activation code for Android (including LPA and the colon ‘:’) that was sent to your email. This is not a link, but a code that must be entered in the designated space > Select Continue > Tap on Activate.

How to activate an eSIM on Nokia?

Ideally, you should activate your eSIM once you reach your destination. But if you activated it in advance, don’t worry. You can simply deactivate it and turn off roaming until you’re ready to connect.

Here’s how to activate your eSIM once you’re ready:

Go to Settings > Select Network & Internet > Tap on Mobile Network > Choose your Free Roaming eSIM > Turn on the “Use SIM” switch and enable Roaming.

To keep in mind:

eSIM compatibility on Nokia devices may vary depending on the carrier and country of manufacture.
Nokia devices can store up to 10 eSIMs. If you run out of space, you can remove one via settings.
Remember that the manual code is not a link. You only need to copy and paste it into the designated space without leaving spaces and in its entirety.
On Nokia phones that support both eSIM and Dual SIM, you can use a physical SIM and eSIM simultaneously, but only one can be active for mobile data at a time.

If your phone is not connecting to the network via eSIM after enabling data roaming, try manually connecting to an available network. Follow these steps:

Go to Settings > Select Network & Internet > Tap on Mobile Network > Choose your Free Roaming eSIM > Scroll down > Turn Off Automatically select network > Wait for the operators to load, select each carrier that appears on your screen and choose the one with the best signal and connection > Try browsing again.
