ToggleHow to change APN settings on Vivo devices?
To connect to the internet from your Vivo device, you need to have the APN set up correctly. This setting allows you to access the web, send emails, and use your favorite apps. In this article, we’ll show you how to configure the APN on your Vivo Android device to enjoy a fast and stable connection.
How does the Free Roaming APN Works on your Vivo device?
Although Free Roaming eSIMs include the default APN, in some cases you may need to configure it manually. If you’re unable to connect after activation, select the eSIM as your mobile data line and enter “globaldata” in the APN fields to complete the setup.
Keep reading for a step-by-step guide to set it up and ensure a smooth connection.
To set up APN Android settings on Vivo:
- Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Tap on SIM card and mobile network > Scroll down > Select your Free Roaming eSIM.
- Scroll down and tap on Access Point Names > Check if there is an APN labeled globaldata and select it. If it doesn’t appear, you’ll need to create it. To do so, press the + button > In the Name field, type Free Roaming to easily recognize it.
- Then, in the APN field, enter globaldata > Tap the three dots at the top right > Choose Save > Once the changes are saved, select the newly created APN (Free Roaming).
Troubleshooting tips:
1. If you’ve already set up the Free Roaming APN but your internet connection isn’t performing optimally, resetting the APN settings on your Android device can help fix connectivity issues by restoring the default network configuration.
Keep in mind that resetting will affect your Wi-Fi, mobile data, and Bluetooth connections, but won’t delete your personal data. Make sure to back up any saved Wi-Fi passwords before proceeding.
To reset network settings on a Vivo Android phone:
- Go to Settings > Scroll down and tap on System > Select Reset options > Tap on Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth > Finally, tap on Reset settings to reset your network. (If prompted, enter the PIN you use to unlock your screen and tap Next).
2. If your device is in an area covered by the eSIM plan and the APN is correctly configured, but you still can’t connect to the internet after resetting the network settings, try changing the operator manually.
3. If your phone is from another brand like Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi, Honor, or Pixel, you’ll get easy-to-follow steps for setting up your Android APN settings without any hassle.
