ToggleHow to set up APN settings Android on Oppo?
If you’re experiencing connection issues on your Oppo or recently switched carriers, you may need to configure the APN. Don’t worry, it’s easier than it sounds. While steps may vary slightly depending on the model or Android version, we’ll guide you through it step by step.
Steps to set up Free Roaming APN on Oppo
if you’re having trouble connecting after activation, you probably need to configure the APN. It’s very easy, just enter “globaldata” in the fields we show you. But first, make sure your eSIM is active for mobile data.
To set up APN Android settings on Oppo:
- Go to Settings > Mobile network > Tap on your Free Roaming eSIM > Select Access Point Names (APNs).
- Check if there is an APN labeled “globaldata” and select it. If it doesn’t appear, you’ll need to create it. To do so, tap the + at the top right > In the Name field, type “Free Roaming” to easily recognize it.
- Then, in the APN field, enter the word globaldata > When you’re finished, tap the checkmark to save the changes > Finally, make sure to select the newly created APN (Free Roaming) as the default for your Oppo, otherwise, it won’t activate correctly.
Troubleshooting tips
1. If you’ve accidentally entered the wrong APN on your Android or are still unable to connect to the internet after configuring the correct APN, a good solution is to reset the network settings.
This will erase all Wi-Fi, mobile network, and Bluetooth configurations, restoring them to factory defaults. Make sure to back up your Wi-Fi passwords beforehand. Next, we’ll walk you through the steps:
To reset network settings on Oppo phones:
- Go to Settings > Scroll down and tap on Additional settings > Select Back up & reset > Tap on Reset Phone > Finally, tap on Reset network settings. (If prompted, enter the PIN you use to unlock your screen and tap on Reset network settings again).
2. If your device is in an area covered by the eSIM plan and the APN is correctly configured, but you still can’t connect to the internet after resetting the network settings, try switching the operator manually.
3. If your phone is from another brand like Samsung, Xiaomi, Motorola, Vivo, Sony, Huawei, or Pixel, you’ll get easy-to-follow steps for setting up your Android APN settings without any hassle.
