Troubleshooting tips

Smart strategies to save your data

With a few smart habits, you can stretch your mobile data and make sure it’s there when you need it most. Here are some practical tips to help you keep your usage in check:

  • Set alerts for data usage and manage limits to prevent slow data speeds once a limit is reached.
  • Consider turning off background data for apps that don’t need it. Doing this can help significantly reduce your overall data usage.
  • Remember that streaming services can eat up your data fast, so it’s a good idea to download content when you’re connected to Wi-Fi.

How to check how much hotspot data I’ve used

To find out how much hotspot data you’ve consumed, you can check the total data used during the current period directly on your iPhone or Android, then estimate the hotspot usage based on your activity.

On iPhone:

  • Open Settings > Tap on Cellular or Mobile Data > Scroll down > Check Personal Hotspot. Here, you can see how much data you’ve used for your hotspot.

On Android:

  • Go to Settings > Tap on Connections > Select Mobile Hotspot and Tethering > Choose the Mobile Hotspot option to see how much hotspot data you’ve shared.
